@M Swamynathan
Honestly, I'm not sure what is causing your problem. There could possibly be an issue with the sources.list used by apt, or a bad cd burn. You could try downloading the ISO images directly to you Kubuntu desktop before you start the lmce install and instruct the installer to use those (ISOs) instead of the CDs. That worked for me.

I'd also suggest you visit the LinuxMCE forums and post your question there. There are many people willing to help you out with LMCE issues. Some of them are very knowledgeable with the product.

The problem with the Administrator mode is a bug from Ubuntu. If you keep trying, eventually it will work and you should see a window where you will be asked to enter your password, then the 'Configure' buttons will become available. It happened to me a few times.

In what concerns the NVidia problem, to be able to switch to higher resolution, first you have to select the highest resolution and refresh settings supported by your monitor in the hardware section, next to monitor. Then, you will be able to switch from 640x480 (which was default) to higher, in the first section.

@ andrew
Thanks for commenting. I did try using the "Administrator Mode" after my resolution changed, but that just showed a blank screen with a red border. Nothing was listed.

I was not aware of the "ALT" tip. So if a window is larger than the screen and it gets cut off, I can hold the ALT key to move the window around to see the areas that are cut off? Good to know.. Thanks!

"Under the Hardware tab, my Graphics Card is showing up as nv with the nvidia driver, but I cannot increase my resolution beyond 640 x 480"
I got this issue myself, but i could change the resolution...All you have to do is choose the "Administrator Mode'', hardware setting, and select a generic monitor with a higher resolution; then you will be able to change it.

Or, it you press the 'alt' button on your kb and select the window with the mouse, you could move the windows.

Hope This Helps!
